A public meeting was held at the Ryegate Fire Hall on March 27, 2014 with the Montana Department of Transportation so the public could give input as to the new bridge and a detour on Fish Creek Bridge south of Ryegate. At the end of the meeting it was decided that a detour would be needed as the MT DOT representatives stated that using the Ramage Road/S. Barber Road as a detour for several weeks “was not an option” due to the present condition of the road. The plan is to build a detour just to the west of the present bridge using the temporary, single-land bridge which is currently in place over the creek. While this takes place, access over the bridge should only be unavailable for approximately a half day. The permanent bridge will be a double-lane, single span bridge.
